Well, thats the first ever blog post by me so didnt get a better one to start with our very own yahoo messenger. So, starting of, yahoo recently launched there messenger for vista, which as all know has turned out to be rather a flop among techies. Well the question here arises why the yahoo planned to launch a separate messenger for vista. I have tried previous yahoo messenger releases and they work perfect with vista.
Going further, messenger for vista is just a beta release so you all can catch up with it and try it out. Pretty cool looking, I would give it a 8.5 of 10 on looks. Features: as its a just a beta release so wont be fair to rate it on features or rather wont even compare it with previous yahoo releases. Talking further of features, its just a basic interface that provides chat and file transfer stuff. No webcam stuff as yet up for usage. Interesting feature include yahoo going the apple ichat way including multiple tabs within a single window (like those in firefox n new IE). Also the new messenger provides you with changing colors of each individual window. Well the most interesting feature what i liked was incorporating your yahoo messenger into your vista sidebar that allows you to keep track of individuals. You can set up multiple yahoo messenger gadgets in the sidebar to keep track of number of people. Well I would have surely preferred a single instance of messenger running in sidebar and time to time scrolling between my contacts. but never mind, a cool addition in messenger although.
Whatelse, hmmm... the smileys ofcourse, yahoo has been improving all the way with there smileys. And ofcourse as it is just a beta release your comments are always welcome with the feedback button at the top of every chat window. To check out the new yahoo messenger you can click on the link.
